Biography

Fahy is from Batterstown and wants to address human and animal rights. She also wants to focus on the cost of living and homelessness, if elected.

Question time
Why did you decide to run in this election?

I decided to run in this election to address pet theft and its devastating consequences. Animal cruelty. Also, the increase in homeless people and their pets (if any) and illegal evictions. Rent increase is forcing families out of their homes and they are giving up their pets. I also want a ban on all blood sports and use the same funds in other areas.

What do you think is the greatest issue the country faces right now?

Homelessness, cost of living, affordable housing, lower rents, landlords to accept the HAP, no refusal for families who have pets, lack of emergency accommodation that can facilitate both human and animal, if needed.

What would you like your first speaking time in the Dáil to be about if you get elected?

a) Address illegal evictions and people abusing the law system, use of animals for power and control over families.
Recruit and train specialist Gardai to tackle and address pet theft, harsher penalties for anyone who is found guilty of pet theft.
b) Ban all blood sports and use funds to tackle homelessness crisis.
c) To have a professionally trained Animal Welfare Unit, who have the power to seize and issue on the spot fines to those guilty of animal abuse/cruelty.
d) Address the XL bully ban in hopes to overturn it, stop the cull of all XL bully breeds and approach it in fairness to both human and animal involved.
