Biography
A Limerick native, Paul Gavan has served as a senator since 2016. He is a member of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe and is also the Sinn Féin Seanad spokesperson for education and workers' rights.
Question time
What do you think is the greatest issue the country faces right now?
Housing – a whole generation locked out of the possibility to rent, never mind buy a house. We cannot lose our best and brightest to emigration again.
What would you like your first speaking time in the Dáil to be about if you get elected?
Delivering a Republic where every citizen gets access to decent housing, a health service that works, and the opportunity for a good life.
Why did you decide to run in this election?
To tackle the crises in Health and Housing in Limerick which have got progressively worse under this government.
