Biography

A former councillor in Limerick, Prendiville was part of the anti-water charges movement. In recent years he has been an activist and organiser with Raise the Roof, Ireland-Palestine Solidarity Campaign and People Before Profit. He says he is running because of what is happening in Gaza.

Question time
Why did you decide to run in this election?

I'm a candidate for People Before Profit in Kerry because I have experience in building movements of people power such as on the Water Charges and I would use the platform of a Dail seat to encourage and organise such mass movements on issues of housing, healthcare and cost of living.

What do you think is the greatest issue the country faces right now?

The core issue is the 100 year rule of Fine Gael and Fianna Fail, who have put profit before people creating crises across the board. Personally, housing probably tops the lot along with the government's softly softly approach to Israel's genocidal war in Palestine.

What would you like your first speaking time in the Dáil to be about if you get elected?

My first Dail speech would be a call for all the left parties to refuse to prop up a FF/FG government and instead work together for a left government that puts people before profit.
