Biography

A former Dundalk FC youth player, Reneghan said he was inspired to run for office as he believes successive governments have neglected the diverse working class housing estates in Dundalk.

Question time
Why did you decide to run in this election?

Dundalk, the town I’m from, put up a strong rejection of racists trying to divide working class communities. I was involved in organising this and decided to run on an anti-fascist platform.

What do you think is the greatest issue the country faces right now?

The housing crisis, the healthcare crisis, the climate crisis - it is all a crisis of capitalism. The greatest issue we face is living with an economic system that is working perfectly as it is meant to: wealth for a small few, hardship for the many.

What would you like your first speaking time in the Dáil to be about if you get elected?

The workers' struggle. I recently completed my Masters dissertation on young people and the labour movement and it’s a topic not spoken about enough in the Dáil.
