Biography

Lynch is a pro-Palestinian activist living in Navan. He advocates for spending the Apple Tax on public infrastructure like housing and transportation. He is also a member of Fórsa Trade union, the Community Action Tenants Union and United Against Racism.

Question time
Why did you decide to run in this election?

In 2020, I was not able to vote for a socialist candidate in Meath West who had ruled out coalition with FF/FG and was actively advocating for a left government to tackle the crises in the environment, housing, healthcare, transport etc. In this election, I will be that candidate. I will also be the only candidate in Meath West calling for a Free Palestine from the river to the sea.

What do you think is the greatest issue the country faces right now?

Housing. We're in a housing emergency with 14000 homeless and 4500 homeless children. People Before Profit would create a state construction company in order to build social and affordable homes at scale. This will avoid scandals like the children's hospital and Dáil bike shed by eliminating the profit motive.

What would you like your first speaking time in the Dáil to be about if you get elected?

Transport. Navan has been promised a rail line to Dublin for 20 years now. In 2010, Fianna Fáil Minister Noel Dempsey for Meath West gave a "cast iron" guarantee that it would be operational by 2016 - 8 years ago. People Before Profit calls for a vast expansion of public transport networks, making them free, frequent and reliable.
