Question time
Why did you decide to run in this election?

There are no other candidates who are focused on the systemic changes to democratise, decentralise, and decarbonise our politics, economy, and society, which are needed to properly empower us in our communities so that we all thrive.

What do you think is the greatest issue the country faces right now?

Financialisation of Housing - We need to relink the cost of housing to people's incomes and undo decades of neoliberal policy which treated housing as an asset instead of as a home. We need supports for housing co-ops, universal homes, and proper European-style rent controls which sets a maximum rent based on an index created by the government.

What would you like your first speaking time in the Dáil to be about if you get elected?

Our lack of local democracy. We live in essentially the only democracy in the world where we lack the right to elect our local government, and that has led to reduced trust in local government, which has caused decades of centralisation, reducing democratic accountability and efficiency. This is a key factor in our bad public services and infrastructure, and has been a major cause of the Housing Crisis.
