Biography

Sinead Gibney is a former Chief Commissioner of the Irish Human Rights and Equality Commission. She ran in the 2024 European Elections in Dublin.

Question time
Why did you decide to run in this election?

I have a lot to bring to politics. I believe we should work towards a more equal society in Ireland, and that’s what I want to do as a politician. With a focus on quality public services, we will create a floor below which you can’t fall in society, raising standards of living and dropping the cost of living for all.

What do you think is the greatest issue the country faces right now?

Housing is without a doubt the greatest issue in our country, and climate is the greatest global challenge.

What would you like your first speaking time in the Dáil to be about if you get elected?

Disability - we are so far behind where we need to be as a society, in supporting those amongst us who have disabilities
