Biography

Linda de Courcy is a resident of Clondalkin and was elected to South Dublin County Council in 2024, focusing on areas such as immigration, cost of living, agriculture and tourism.

Question time
Why did you decide to run in this election?

I got elected in the locals in June because I wasn’t afraid to say immigration is a significant issue which needs to be addressed and discussed openly. We have 6 IPAS centres in the Clondalkin electoral area yet all concerns about these centres are swept under the rug. This is not acceptable.

What do you think is the greatest issue the country faces right now?

Lack of accountability for the decisions the government is making, including a shocking lack of fiscal accountability. We haven’t had a real opposition in the last 5 years to hold the government to account, nor has the press been doing their job in really challenging the decisions that are being made in Leinster House.

What would you like your first speaking time in the Dáil to be about if you get elected?

Why are women’s spaces not being protected by the government? There is a violent sexual predator in Limerick women’s prison putting the safety of both prisoners and prison guards at risk every day. Women deserve better than this.
