Question time
Why did you decide to run in this election?

Politics has always been part of my life. I choose to run now as my life’s experience as an Acting President, Head of Nursing at ATU Angela’s, ICU nurse, social activist and mother of five, have given me the skills and fuelled my commitment and determination to make a difference to the quality of people’s lives across the Northwest.

What do you think is the greatest issue the country faces right now?

It's clear that we need to increase supply and support the availability of affordable, social and rental properties, ensuring appropriate zoning and efficient planning processes. With demands on housing unlikely to ease any time soon, a fair and firm approach to immigration is required that does not impact existing housing and tourism needs or overwhelm local communities and services.

What would you like your first speaking time in the Dáil to be about if you get elected?

Healthcare. With my direct experience of working in the Irish healthcare system, I know the areas where it is working well and where change and investment is urgently needed. People in the Northwest deserve to access high quality healthcare wherever they live. As well as investing in local hospitals and services, meaning having the right to local and regional infrastructure.
