Question time
Why did you decide to run in this election?
I am running in this election for a third term in Dáil Éireann because I do not accept that, in a wealthy country, we cannot fix the health, housing, and cost of living crises facing ordinary workers and families. We want to change the Government to deliver a Government that can tackle the very real challenges facing our society. Other parties have failed time and again, and it is time for someone new.
What do you think is the greatest issue the country faces right now?
The single biggest issue facing the country is housing. It is not right that our young people are locked at home, or left with no choice but to emigrate for a better life. The State has all the resources it needs to deliver affordable housing for ordinary people, but conservative Governments have lacked the political will to change this.
What would you like your first speaking time in the Dáil to be about if you get elected?
First and foremost, I am a TD for Waterford, as well as Sinn Féin’s spokesperson on Health. I have a responsibility to the people of Waterford to raise the issues in our city and county – investment in health, in housing, in good jobs, and in the airport. I am also responsible for raising the many challenges in healthcare and outlining Sinn Féin’s solutions, which I have published called Prescription for Change.
