Biography

Malcolm is from Gorey, Co. Wexford, and is Fianna Fáil's current spokesperson on further and higher education, research, innovation and science and a member of the Oireachtas Committee on Tourism, Sport, Arts, Media & Culture. He was briefly a TD after winning a byelection in November 2019, just weeks before the 2020 General Election was called. Separately, he has ran 38 marathons.

Why did you decide to run in this election?

I am passionate about how politics can address challenges whether in our communities, nationally or globally. I want to help make this the best country in the world in which to learn, to research, to live and to enjoy life.

What do you think is the greatest issue the country faces right now?

The need for affordable housing.

What would you like your first speaking time in the Dáil to be about if you get elected?

Giving a break to young people who have worked hard and want to buy their own home.
