Question time
Why did you decide to run in this election?
My constituency needs real change and that is what I’m offering. Everyday I meet constituents with no hope of owning a home and can’t afford to rent one. Furthermore, successive governments have not invested in public housing, they have left it to the markets and enriched private developers and vulture funds while ordinary people are left behind.
What do you think is the greatest issue the country faces right now?
I believe it is ineptitude and lack of will by this Government and previous governments. There is no accountability. Housing, crime, health, immigration and autism services are a mess.
What would you like your first speaking time in the Dáil to be about if you get elected?
Getting to grips with our housing and health service and ensuring family carers are respected for the priceless contribution they make. We have been calling for some time for the abolishment of the carers means test and we would follow through on our pledge.
