Question time
Why did you decide to run in this election?
Our country has overcome great challenges in recent years, and made much progress but can achieve even more. Despite the pandemic and higher prices caused by the war in Ukraine, we have seen more jobs created, more homes built and improvements in our schools, universities and public services. I want this progress to be accelerated, and have the experience to make that happen.
What do you think is the greatest issue the country faces right now?
We need to ensure that our public finances remain safe so that we can improve the standard of living and quality of public services for all of our people. This means more homes, more investment in our schools and hospitals and more Gardai in our communities and on our streets.
What would you like your first speaking time in the Dáil to be about if you get elected?
About the importance of looking after our economy – which allows us to look after society – in this new world order. And of the importance of relationships in the European Union in doing this. A strong EU together with a strong economy gives us the ability to meet the needs of our people and to ensure a more secure future in the years ahead.
