Biography

Pádraig O'Sullivan has been a Fianna Fail TD for Cork North Central since 2019. He is party Spokesperson for Special Education. He is a former Cork County Councillor, and worked as a teacher before becoming a TD.

Question time
Why did you decide to run in this election?

I want to continue building on the work I have done over the term of this government, particularly on housing and education. I have a deep rooted connection with my community and my constituents. I hope through my continued participation and representation in political life that we can progress key projects.

What do you think is the greatest issue the country faces right now?

Housing. Fianna Fáil in government has built the largest number of homes in a generation but challenges remain. I am acutely aware of those challenges and will continue to support my constituents by ensuring Fianna Fáil continues to implement policies that help my constituents access more affordable housing, planning reforms, increase the number of social homes built, and build on the cost-rental model.

What would you like your first speaking time in the Dáil to be about if you get elected?

I have been a strong advocate for special education. I will continue to raise the urgent need to expand the provision of special education. A new special school has been sanctioned for Cork for 2025/2026, and this needs to progress without delay, in addition to reinstating therapies to special schools.
