Niall Murphy lives in Salthill with his wife and three children. From 2020 to 2024 he served as a councillor on Galway City Council. He works as a software engineer. He wants to reduce car dependency, prioritise flood defences, and improve public transport, walking and cycling routes, and eventually see a light rail built for Galway. He has previously served on the boards of University of Galway and Leisureland in Salthill.
