We need your help now

Support from readers like you keeps The Journal open.

You are visiting us because we have something you value. Independent, unbiased news that tells the truth. Advertising revenue goes some way to support our mission, but this year it has not been enough.

If you've seen value in our reporting, please contribute what you can, so we can continue to produce accurate and meaningful journalism. For everyone who needs it.

The Journal Investigates is dedicated to lifting the lid on how Ireland works. We expose injustice, get forensic on complex stories and demand change on your behalf.

With your support, we get results that deliver impact.

Support our mission
Impact

Our team goes beyond breaking news to spotlight issues that don’t get the attention they deserve.

We travel the length and breadth of Ireland to unveil its murky inner workings. We dive deep into data and documents, unearthing anomalies and failures. We listen to unheard voices and push the powerful to answer challenging questions.

Recognition

Our investigative unit is dependent on generous support by The Journal readers and Journal Media. Investigative reporting is time-consuming and difficult to resource but our readers make financial contributions because they know we deliver impact-driven journalism. Time and time again.

That’s not just us saying so. The Journal Investigates, and previously as Noteworthy, has brought home over 20 awards, including the prestigious Mary Raftery Prize, Irish Red Cross Humanitarian Awards, Journalist Awards and Justice Media Awards. Our investigations are regularly cited in the Houses of the Oireachtas, spur legislative change and call wrongdoing to account.
