Biography
Haughey was first elected to the Dáil in 1992. He has been re-elected at nearly every general election since, bar 2011. Hehas served as Minister of State and Lord Mayor of Dublin. He is the Fianna Fáil spokesperson on foreign and European affairs. He was a Senator from 1987 to 1992. He was a Dublin city councillor from 1985 to 2003. He has a degree in economics and politics.

Why should someone vote for you?
I consider myself to be an honest, decent, hardworking public representative with extensive experience. I am a strong advocate for Dublin’s Northside in public policy-making. I will continue to advocate sensible policies and practical solutions to issues.
What is your number one priority for your constituency?
The provision of social and affordable housing and the promotion of home ownership for young people through sustainable planning.
What one thing would you like to do in your first 100 days of the new Dáil if you are elected?
Ensure that there is increased investment in public transport including Dart, bus services and cycling facilities to give commuters a break and to tackle climate change.
