Healy-Rae was first elected to the Dáil in 2016. He was first elected to Kerry County Council from 2003. He formerly worked in plant hire and owns a pub in Kilgarvan. He is the brother of fellow Kerry TD Michael Healy-Rae and the son of former TD Jackie Healy-Rae.
I have a total commitment to the people of Kerry, having represented them for 17 years. I experience and understand the problems on the ground - people in rural Ireland feel let down by a government who have no understanding of them.
I will insist the health service is improved for sick people in rural areas who are not getting any respite. I also want to see improvement in the home help services.
I will continue working for all sections of the community in Kerry with my brother Michael. We hold clinics week in, week out, and I never turn my phone off in case someone in the community wishes to contact me.
