Bogue was elected to Cork City Council in the May 2019 local elections. She previously contested the 2016 general election. She has a degree in Irish music and dance and is completing a Masters in economic analysis. She was the press officer for Cork Together For Yes during the campaign to repeal the Eighth Amendment. She assisted in the drafting of the Green Party's Bill to ban microbeads.
