O'Sullivan has been a TD since first elected in 1998. She has been re-elected in every general election since. She previously served as a Senator from 1993 to 1997 on the administrative panel. She is a former Minister for Education and Skills. She is a previous Minister of State in housing and trade, respectively. She was first elected to Limerick City Council in 1985 and was Mayor of Limerick in 1993.
I would ask people to vote for me because I am a doer, not just a talker with a record of hard work, honesty and fairness... My experience and proven commitment over many years makes me a strong voice for my constituency.
My number one priority is getting the resources to address the shameful overcrowding in the emergency department of University Hospital Limerick. I am determined to use my seat in Dáil Eireann to ensure that this issue that affects so many sick and elderly people is prioritised and fully funded.
Whether in government or opposition, I would fight to deal with the crisis in health and housing to ensure investment in these vital public necessities is provided rather than the dependence on private provision.
