McGrath was first elected as a TD in 2007 and has been re-elected at every general election since. He is the Fianna Fáil spokesperson on finance. McGrath was elected to the then Passage West Town Commission in Cork in 1999. He was first elected to Cork County Council in 2004. He is a qualified chartered accountant. He was a member of the Joint Oireachtas Finance Committee in the most recent government.
If elected, I will do all that I can to provide effective representation for the people of Cork and to serve the national interest at all times.
A decent society has to have a good public health system. The waiting lists we have are appalling. Tackling the waiting lists in health will be a key priority.
Rather than short-term gestures, the first 100 days needs to be used to put firm foundations in place for a sustainable plan to tackle the crises in health, housing, climate change and the cost of living including insurance.
