Biography

Elected first as a Westmeath county councillor in 2004, he served on the council until he was elected to the Dáil in 2011, defeating the two sitting Fianna Fáil TDs. He is the current party spokesperson on children, and the former spokesperson on arts and heritage.

Why should someone vote for you (in 140 characters or fewer)?

I want people to judge me on my record and the work I have done to represent and help the people of Longford Westmeath.

What is your number one priority for your constituency?

I will work to support small enterprises, incentivise growth and commerce in the communities and help tackle rural crime.

What one thing would you like to do in your first 100 days of the new Dáil if you are elected?

I will focus on enacting my proposals for childcare with a view to reducing the cost burden on working parents in Ireland.
