Biography

Elected as a Galway city councillor in 2004, he lost his seat in 2009. A schoolteacher by profession, he is a long-time member of Fianna Fáil and this is first time running for a general election. He is a fluent Irish speaker and is involved with local community groups in his area.

Why should someone vote for you (in 140 characters or fewer)?

I am an honest, committed, empathetic and pragmatic candidate. My concerns are the practical day to day issues that impact on people's daily lives.

What is your number one priority for your constituency?

To provide housing solutions for the growing number of families encountering homelessness throughout the constituency.

What one thing would you like to do in your first 100 days of the new Dáil if you are elected?

Ask the health minister to immediately commence the development of the new psychiatric unit at UHG which was granted planning in 2011 but yet to be built.
