Biography
He was first elected to the Dáil in 2002 and retained his seat in the 2007 general election. A former government chief whip and minister of state, he lost his seat in the 2011 general election. Prior to entering the Dáil, he was a south Dublin county councillor.

As a lifelong resident of the constituency, I have the commitment to provide experienced, effective representation for our community.
What is your number one priority for your constituency?
Better access to health services including: mental health services, speech & language and occupational therapists, primary care centres.
What one thing would you like to do in your first 100 days of the new Dáil if you are elected?
To propose and have implemented a number of emergency measures to improve the housing crisis while a 20-year housing strategy is developed.
