Biography
She was elected first as a Fingal county councillor for the Socialist Party in 1999 and served until she was elected to the Dáil on her fifth attempt in 2011. An outspoken and prominent campaigner on a number of issues, she left the Socialist Party in 2012. Now a member of United Left, she is a co-founder of the party and is a prominent anti-austerity activist.
