Biography
Elected first as a Wicklow county councillor in 1999, he served on the council until he was elected to the Dáil in 2007. A sitting TD since, he is chairperson of the Oireachtas Joint Committee on Agriculture, Food and the Marine, and is a former Fine Gael spokesperson for agriculture.

Why should someone vote for you (in 140 characters or fewer)?
If voting is based on experience, track record and motivation to promote what is best about Wicklow and East Carlow, then people should vote for me.
What is your number one priority for your constituency?
To utilise what we have from an agriculture, economic & tourism perspective so as to promote Wicklow and East Carlow as a place to do business.
What one thing would you like to do in your first 100 days of the new Dáil if you are elected?
Work with government colleagues to set out a detailed five year plan on how to stabilise, maintain and encourage further economic recovery.
