Biography

Elected first to the Dáil in 1975, he is the longest serving TD currently in the Dáil. The Taoiseach since 2011, he became leader of Fine Gael in 2002. He previously served as Minister for Tourism and Trade from 1994 to 1997.

What is your number one priority for your constituency?

I aim to prioritise building a strong economy which will ultimately generate the resources to invest in the services that people depend on.

What one thing would you like to do in your first 100 days of the new Dáil if you are elected?

Following the next election, I intend to form a government that will secure the recovery and ensure the benefits are felt at every door.
