Biography
Elected as a Limerick county councillor in 2009, he twice ran unsuccessfully in general elections before being elected to the Seanad in 2011. A former primary school teacher and member of the Labour Party, he lost the party whip after voting against the government on the Social Welfare Bill and is now a member of the Social Democrats.

100 years ago, young people stood up and took responsibility for our country. GE16 is about our future. Soc Dems have vision, integrity and cop on.
What is your number one priority for your constituency?
Construction of the M20 motorway between Limerick and Cork: connectivity is vital to help rural communities thrive and attract much-needed investment to Limerick.
What one thing would you like to do in your first 100 days of the new Dáil if you are elected?
Refer to Q2. Also remove EPA's immunity from prosecution and halt plans for the gasification plant in Gortnadroma. End child poverty and enshrine neutrality.
