Biography
Appointed as a senator by Enda Kenny in 2011, she is a Canadian-born academic and feminist. She is a co-founder of an Cosán, a community education centre, and has been an active campaigner for equal rights for same-sex couples. She was a prominent voice in the recent marriage referendum.

Why should someone vote for you (in 140 characters or fewer)?
Because I have worked for 30 years in my community promoting equality, opportunity and fairness as an educator, entrepreneur and public representative.
What is your number one priority for your constituency?
Focusing on progressive policies that will allow everyone to reach their full potential through high-quality jobs, access to education and equality in opportunity.
What one thing would you like to do in your first 100 days of the new Dáil if you are elected?
Campaign to increase household incomes, strengthen communities, invest in education, create jobs and offer more opportunity to young people.
