A Dublin city councillor, he failed to secure a seat in the 2009 local elections but was elected in 2014. This is his first time running for a general election and he is a member of the Economic Development and Housing SPCs on Dublin City Council. In 2006, he worked in the US Senate for then-Senator Hillary Clinton.
