Biography

A Cork county councillor for Fianna Fáil since 1991, he twice failed to get elected to the Seanad in 2007 and 2011 as a member of Fianna Fáil. He left the party in June 2015, and is now running as an Independent candidate. He is a former Mayor of county Cork.

Why should someone vote for you (in 140 characters or fewer)?

I have the experience, energy and ability to deliver for Cork SW at national level. Recent Mayor, chair of Tourism SPC and VP of Energy Cities in Europe with a proven work rate.

What is your number one priority for your constituency?

To help grow economic activity to create real jobs in Cork South-West.

What one thing would you like to do in your first 100 days of the new Dáil if you are elected?

Secure funding to upgrade our community hospitals safeguarding the long term beds for our elderly which are under imminent threat from HIQA.
