We spoke to Ireland’s Olympic silver medalist Annalise Murphy as she prepares to set sail on the Volvo Ocean Race.
Over 500,000 people visited Galway city for the festival with 16% of those coming from outside of Ireland.
More than 900,000 people have been in Galway for the festivities.
Enda Kenny said that the race finale had brought the kind of audience and publicity “that no marketing budget could ever buy”.
The French boat, with Kerryman Damian Foxall on board, ended the eight month race with victory in the west.
Kerryman Damian Foxall is the watch leader on French entry Groupama, and says that “anything but overall victory” would be a disaster for them.
