Kiev had a change of heart this morning over the Russian convoy, saying it will let the aid in once it has been inspected.
Ukraine also reported that several of its positions were still coming under mortar fire from Russian territory.
A 10-day truce was not extended after the government said separatists were ‘unwilling to control terrorist units’.
Putin has rejected the legitimacy of the interim team that rose to power in February and not been reported to have spoken to any Ukrainian official since the Kiev uprising.
