British citizens will be asked about their gender identity for the first time, the country’s national statistician said on Friday.
Over 5,000 smart phones will be given to the Census enumerators around the country to capture data in April 2021.
The Census will have a “time capsule” blank box on the form, where citizens can leave their mark, to be revealed in 100 years’ time.
The next Census day will be held on 18 April 2021. Mark it in the diary.
