THERE’S PROBABLY a very good reason why Iron Maiden are considered one of metal’s wilder acts: and here it is.

The London rockers finished the European leg of their Final Frontier World Tour in Norway last week, and deciding to let their hair down after two and half months on the road, took a lift to Finnegans Irish Pub to kick off some steam.

And, indeed, steam was kicked off. Norway is known as being one of the few places where alcohol is more expensive than in Ireland: a pint of Guinness will set you back 66 Norweigan krone, or about €8.30. A pint of Kilkenny ale is the same price. A shot of Jägermeister is €7.70.

But, musicians being musicians, money was clearly no object for the six piece, and their (hopefully) considerable entourage. Here, via The Daily Wh.At, ‘s their receipt for their night on the town, running to a cool 20,109 krone – €2,537.

(For reference, €1 is about 7.93 krone.)

We can only assume that the staff at Finnegan’s got a pretty hefty tip after a night serving that rowdy bunch.

The best part? Their tour wasn’t even really over: the band played the Sziget Festival in Budapest three days later.
