Over 40 recalls of food contaminated with pesticide ethylene oxide - and more expected
The Food Safety Authority of Ireland have recalled over 40 products since September 2020 due to ethylene oxide contamination.
Ethylene oxide has been banned in the European Union since 1981.
Many of the recalled items contain contaminated sesame seeds from India.
However, another some contain contaminated locust bean gum, and the source of this contamination is unknown, Emma Taggart reports.
