Biography

First elected as a Louth county councillor in 1979, he ran three times unsuccessfully for national office and served in the Seanad before he was elected to the Dáil in 2002. He is a former Fine Gael spokesperson for environment, heritage and local government and is a former Minister of State with responsibility for the NewERA Project.
