Biography

Elected to Tipperary South County Council in 1991, he served as both a councillor and a senator before being elected to the Dáil on his second attempt in 2001. A serving TD since, he is the Minister of State for Food, Horticulture and Food Safety and is a former chairperson of the Fine Gael parliamentary party.

What is your number one priority for your constituency?

There is no one priority that I intend to focus on, although I will continue to work closely with the IDA to attract more jobs to Tipperary.

What one thing would you like to do in your first 100 days of the new Dáil if you are elected?

I will continue to work hard to secure employment for the people of Tipperary and grow jobs numbers
